This is not just another Montana hunt or any waterfowl hunt for that matter. This is one of the craziest starts to an episode we have ever had. We scouted hard and found a lot of ducks working the river and we had permission to hunt this section of river. Well, the wind picked up about 30 minutes into the hunt and it was too much for the birds to work the main river channel. The birds were bouncing into this little slough that was maybe 15 yards wide. It was one of the tightest spots I have ever shot, and Jett would just about clear half the slough when he hit his water entry.
Tyler Grethen and Kyle Killen from Weatherby as well as our guy John Serrano in Montana give the Sorix shotguns a good go on this hunt. We were armed a little too heavy for this, but we were not expecting to be there, but we made the most of it along with some pillowcases. We took turns and enjoyed the day banging out some greenheads in the sunshine and timber.
