In 2019 Zach made the trip down with some buddies to try their luck at bagging some Osceola Gobblers. Zach’s primary job was running the camera so the opportunity didn’t quite show itself for him to be behind the gun. Fast forward to 2021. I invited him and Jason Nickerson back down to Florida in hopes of getting revenge. The first afternoon of the hunt we all split up to try to find a bird. I stuck one and was able to watch him fly up to roost. The next morning he was silent until he hit the ground and that’s when the cat and mouse game started. After an hour or so of working this bird pretty hard we gave him about 20 minutes of the silent treatment. Zach soft yelped one time just as we were going to get up and move and the bird drummed at the call less than 20 yards away. A few steps later and Zach got his first Osceola and completed the last leg of the slam.
