Ernie’s first memory of turkey hunting was his Dad calling a stubborn long beard out of an oak hammock right up to his gun barrel using an old corn cob/cedar striker and a raw piece of slate. Thirty years later the sight and sound of that gobbler flopping is still very fresh in his mind. Having three generations of turkey hunters in the blind is special. Throw in three long beards roosted less than 100 yards and that’s a memory that the Edwards boys will remember for ever. Stay tuned to see how Knox deals with his extreme case of “the turkey nerves”.
