Our trip to the midwest started in Illinois at a farm we have been hunting for a couple years now. The moon was perfect and the weather was cold but unfortunately the deer just were not moving. After 5 days of hunting in Illinois we decided to pack up and head to Kansas with our buddy Travis for a buck we nicknamed Evander. The hunting was a grind. We were hunting extremely hard, moving stands and checking the Spartan Cameras to try and better position ourselves but we just could not see that shooter buck we were looking for. We made a move to a cedar tree in a pinch point I really liked and on October 21st, we finally had an encounter with Evander. Although it was exciting to see him we were slightly heart broken that he never made it into bow range. The grind continued and finally 3 days later we had a full moon and decided to hunt that morning in the same cedar tree we saw Evander a few days prior. We were right in the middle of the action as soon as it got light out and well, the rest is history. Check out the full hunt on our first episode of Whitetail Edge Season 4 called, Evander.
