When you combine Hoyt’s birthday with three shooters in the area, doe weekend and the green light to shoot whatever walks out you know it will be an exciting hunt. Hoyt and Jacob have an encounter with a gnarly looking buck at first light, then a wad of doe shortly after that. Hoyt decides to shoot the biggest doe to start off his birthday hunt. After church, Amy, Jacob and Hoyt are headed back to the same stand in hopes of seeing one of the three shooters that are in the area. Not long after being in the stand the gnarly buck that escaped earlier that morning walks out and Hoyt put an awesome shot on him. Just like that Hoyt doubles up on his 7th birthday.
